Cool nrg delivers programmatic CDM in the form of domestic energy efficiency. This approach is called CDM-DEE — Domestic Energy Efficiency.
The regulators of the CDM have moved to address the geographical and project-type imbalance and allow for CDM DEE activities through programmatic CDM (pCDM).
Unlike large scale projects, programmatic CDM DEE allows project developers to register many small projects covering a wide geographic area under one program.
This can allow mass scale domestic energy efficiency to be scaled up in developing countries.
Cool nrg CDM-DEE delivers:
• Immediate and significant emission reductions
• Household savings from efficient technology — starting with lighting
• Reduced pressure on national energy supply
• Savings for governments who subsidise electricity prices
• Significant anti-poverty action through energy efficiency
CDM-DEE commences with the mass distribution of energy efficient compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) to individual households. This type of CFL distribution demonstrates the feasibility of mass campaigns and stimulates further and more ambitious projects with domestic energy efficiency technology.
